God is doing miraculous things in Africa, a vibrant continent where many cultures and ethnicities combine in a beautiful tapestry of God’s creation.
It’s a continent of hardships, too. In one community where Partners resources indigenous leaders, harsh weather, including drought and severe dust storms brought on by wind, means that local crops are failing rapidly, and water is scarce. This is a threat to both livelihood and livestock.
Yet ministry is thriving there. Children’s ministry, marketplace evangelism, and home visits are key strategies of the ministry in this place.
It’s a joy to know that children gather each Saturday and Sunday to dance, play games, enjoy a warm meal when resources allow, and learn the Scriptures that draw them to Jesus. God is working in these young lives!
But God’s hand clearly is at work in other places as well. As the ministry team is visible in the markets and on daily walks, they turn ordinary acts into extraordinary workings of God. Each encounter becomes an opportunity — a pulpit from which to share the Gospel.
And people are responding! In just the last few weeks 60 people heard about Jesus — and 15 of them confessed Him as Lord as Savior. Each new believer is now part of the local fellowship and being discipled in their new faith.
Acts of compassion and home visits are another way God is transforming this community, despite years of hardship. A neighbor of one of the ministry team was struggling with chronic alcohol abuse. But as the team visited regularly and intentionally — even offering the husband some work opportunities so he could feed his family — he became open to the Word of God.
Now both the husband and wife are attending a fellowship where they hear the Word taught regularly. They’ve also received an audio Bible in their local language and are falling deeply in love with the things of God. This transformation in their household is clear to the entire neighborhood!
Please pray for this little family of new believers. And pray for the ministry team—for health, their children’s needs, and continued growth of the ministry. Pray the Lord expands their boundaries and empowers each community program so that families are lifted out of spiritual and structural poverty … in the name of Jesus!
