Grateful for Rain, Health, and Hearts Open to the Gospel

This story comes from one of our ministry partners in East West Africa, who have been faithfully serving their community and sharing the Gospel through innovative outreach methods.

We give thanks to God for the much-needed rains over the past two nights here in Kenya’s coastal region. The cooler weather has brought relief after days and nights of extreme heat. We are also deeply grateful for the gift of good health among our team and for God’s continual presence and provision in our lives and ministry.

As we seek the Lord’s guidance on reaching our community, He has faithfully opened doors and revealed effective strategies. One of the most fruitful tools has been visual evangelism, particularly through the Jesus Film and the Walking with Jesus discipleship series. We’ve seen how both young and older community members are deeply engaged by visual content, creating unique opportunities to share the Gospel.

This past Good Friday and Easter Sunday, we were able to show the Jesus Film and all six parts of Walking with Jesus in a local village. Translated into Kiswahili, the films were easy to follow and clearly communicate Christ’s message, requiring little explanation. We believe many hearts were touched, seeds of faith were planted, and several participants expressed interest in learning more about Jesus.

In addition to past visual outreach, we continue to follow up with 13 Discovery Bible Study (DBS) groups, each with about seven participants. This year, God has enabled us to start 14 new groups, bringing the total to 27 active groups with around 189 participants. These DBS groups have become vital spaces for spiritual growth, community, and discovering God’s Word together.

We are especially thankful for the provision of audio Bibles, which have been a tremendous blessing for many oral learners. These tools allow participants to engage deeply with Scripture, even those who are unable to read, and have enriched our Bible study sessions in powerful ways.

Please join us in praying that God will:

  • Continue to touch lives through the Jesus Film and DBS groups

  • Keep hearts in our community open to spiritual breakthroughs

  • Draw many more to faith and grow them into disciple-makers

  • Provide us with increasing opportunities and resources to expand this ministry

May this story remind us that hope is not just a feeling. It’s a practice rooted in God’s promises. We pray for continued breakthroughs and a harvest of new disciple-makers!
