I still remember the day I met Bakti*, a car workshop owner filled with doubts about faith. We were introduced by a friend during a ministry event. From the moment we met, I felt called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with him.
Bakti had a deep longing to find the truth, but he hadn’t yet found a satisfying answer. He had prayed to the god of his religion to show him the way, and I believe our meeting was God’s response to that prayer.
I shared with him the truth about sin and salvation through Jesus Christ. Bakti was struck by what I shared and began to open his heart to belief. I also introduced him to a friend who had once been a Muslim and had come to faith in Jesus. Bakti was deeply grateful, he felt he had finally found the answer he had been searching for. He even shared his newfound faith with his wife. Thank God, she was open and not fanatical in her response. Bakti also invited one of his friends to learn more about the Christian faith.
I believe God is working in the hearts of Bakti and the friend he invited. I hope to continue nurturing their faith and witnessing their growth in their walk with God. I also hope they will become a blessing to others and eventually form a house church.
I invite you to join me in praying for Bakti and his friend. Pray that their faith continues to grow, that they will become a blessing to others, and that the seeds planted will bear fruit. Pray for continued opportunities for evangelism training and for future chances to reconnect. Most importantly, pray that the Word of God, already shared, will take root in Bakti’s heart and that a house church might one day emerge through him and his friend.
