Prayers for the Police

Pakistan is a Muslim country with high persecution of believers. Many Jesus followers are scared to proclaim their faith – knowing their beliefs can lead to death. However, we are seeing many bold leaders who feel called to proclaim the name of Jesus, despite the severe consequences.

Some of our leaders were traveling through Pakistan on a prayer walk. Driving through the city, police officers stopped their car and interrogated their intentions. Boldly, the leaders told them that they were praying over the city. The police did not like their answer and took them to the police station.

At the police station, the leaders refused to answer questions unless they met with the police chief. When they were brought before him, they contemplated lying and saying they were tourists, but they were reminded of John 8:31-32, “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”

The leaders decided to tell the truth and say they were praying for prosperity for their city. The police chief’s heart was softened, and he set them free without punishment. Before they left the police station, the chief called the entire police staff and allowed our leaders to pray for them. In Jesus name, they prayed over every person for protection, success, blessing, salvation and deliverance.

In a country where proclaiming the name of Jesus may be speaking a death sentence, the Holy Spirit touched the police officers and created a way for the gospel to advance. The leaders were permitted to pray wherever they wanted to pray. Join us as we continue to pray for our leaders in Pakistan as God touches the lives of people who hear His Word and saves them through His power and gospel.
